My friend Jesslyn (The Orlando Foodie Girl) wrote a book and she has two more coming in this series!! She invited me to her book release media event and it was so much fun.
When I arrived I received the new book, Tristan Pates Toxic Moon. I haven’t read the book yet but it sounds really good. I’ll definitely read it and let y’all know all about it. I loved that the book was signed and she wrote me a cute message inside. We took a picture after together and then I made my way to find a seat. There were lots of other bloggers and people from the media there. At media events I love that everyone also takes pictures and I’m not the odd one out.
After finding a table I looked at all the amazing food that we were going to be eating. There was mariquitas cubanas, plantain and malanga chips, black bean hummus, roasted cauliflower hummus, a grilled vegetable platter, Cuban paella, malanga fritters, and spinach and manchego cheese bunuelos. Many of these things I had never tried but loved! I really like the shrimp with guacamole that was an appetizer.
The food was delicious and I would recommend checking out Cuba Libre. I also loved the colors of the building. It was definitely a great place to take pictures.
