Over the weekend I attended a gala to celebrate the end of my campaign for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My best friend Hannah and I were nominees for student of the year for LLS. We have worked extremely hard since the fall, planning amazing events to raise money to help fight blood cancers. The campaign lasted 7 weeks. We experienced events that were a great success, but also experienced events that failed. Both taught us valuable life lessons that I am thankful for.

Our hero of the year is a little girl named Dakota who is so adorable. Hearing her story and what she has faced has been life changing for me. I can’t imagine being so young and experiencing what she has in her life. She is a strong little girl and is a hero!
Here are some pictures from during our campaign.

For the gala I wore the prettiest black dress from Promgirl. I love how the dress is made and how it fits. It also has pockets which were perfect for my lipstick and cell phone. I wore this dress for 7 hours on Saturday night and I liked that it was something I could move in. The shoes I wore with my dress are from Guess. This was a red shoe event, so the red heels were perfect. Below are some pictures of my look.

Our fabulous heels! Mine: Guess Hannah’s: Forever 21
To complete my look I wore jewelry from Kendra Scott and from Summerfield Collection. Check out their sites to see more of their fabulous pieces.

My hair and make up I felt was perfect for the event. My hair products always come from Fave4hair. They have been a company I have worked with for awhile now and I absolutely love everything they sell. I used take over texture in my hair before I braided my hair and then finished my look with firm holding hair spray. The makeup is from Girls Rock Cosmetics. The eyeshadow gave my eyes the perfect pop they needed. For the photoshoot I did on Friday I also wore their eyelashes. They made my eyes stand out and look fabulous. Last, I used Beauty Counter’s red lipstick. You can’t wear red heels and not red lipstick.
The evening couldn’t have been anymore perfect! The 6 candidates together raised over $38,000 to help people with blood cancers. That just shows with hard work and great support from friends and family you can help so many people. Thank you to everyone that donated and supported me and Hannah!
